Coach Mateo Perrett
First encountered volleyball in middle school.
2002-2005: Played as a Middle blocker under Rick Phillips and Jason Chronister at Highland HS.
2005-2006: Played Middle Blocker for LA Pierce College under Adam Black finishing 2nd in state after a game 5 loss against LBCC in the championship.
2006-2007: Played Opposite/Middle blocker for LA Pierce College under Eddie Stanislowski and Beau Daniels finishing 3rd in state.
2007-2009: Served a full time 2-year ecclesiastical mission speaking Spanish in Houston,Texas.
2012-2017: Head Coach Boys’ Volleyball at Highland HS.
2015-2018: Assistant Coach for Men’s Volleyball at LA Pierce College under Lance Walker winning 2018 CCCAA State Championship!
2016-Present: Started 3D Volleyball Club; Head Coach over 3DVC 18’s
1996: Played only one year at Middle Hitter at James Monroe High School in North Hills.
1997: Tried out at Pierce College of Woodland Hills. Got cut by Ken Stanley and told to come back when I wasn’t goofy footed.
1998: Tore up my knee trying out for Turhan Douglas and lost a year rehabbing.
2000: Made team as backup Opposite to Lance Walker. Member of State Championship team
2001: Made team as backup Opposite which was a rotating position. Played mostly serving specialist. Member of first undefeated State Championship team in California history.
2002 – 14: Head coach Boys’ Volleyball at Birmingham High School in Lake Balboa.
Playoffs every year except 2002 & 2012
5 All City Section players.
2008: Coached first ever 16 over 1 upset in City Section volleyball playoffs.
2016 – 17: Head coach Boys’ Volleyball at The Palmdale Aerospace Academy.

2007: Graduated from Brigham Young University
2010: Received a Teaching Credential from the CSUB
2010-Present: Teacher for the Westside Union School District.
2013-Present: Joe Walker Middle School Volleyball Coach.
2013, 2014, 2017: Tri-district Championships with only 4 loses in 5 years.
2017: Received a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Brandman University.
2017: Westside Union School District teacher of the year.
